Dr. Tamea D. Evans, a board-certified internal medicine physician and diabetologist, completed her Internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky following an internship at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky after obtaining a B.S. in Health Sciences from Kalamazoo College. In 2019, the State Department of Public Health named Dr. Evans State Physician Champion for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Evans worked for the University of Louisville Physicians, opening a clinic to promote health equity, and earlier practiced at Baptist Health Richmond, Whitehouse Clinics in Richmond, Family Health Centers in Louisville, and Lexington Diabetic Clinic. Dr. Evans chose medicine to help people live longer, healthier lives. A charter board member of the Falls City Medical Society, she serves on the NAACP Health Committee, is VP for the Louisville Chapter of the Links, Inc., is a charter member of Jack and Jill of America and joined the Sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She enjoys entertaining, traveling, and spending time with her husband and beautiful family.
