Dr. Tamea D. Evans joined CenterWell as a board certified internal medicine physician and diabetologist. She earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine after graduating with a health sciences degree from Kalamazoo College. Dr. Evans completed an internship at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati and her Internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky Department of Internal Medicine. In 2019, the State Department of Public Health named her State Physician Champion for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Evans worked for University of Louisville Physicians, helping to open a new clinic in the Parkland neighborhood to promote health equity in the city. She previously practiced with Baptist Health Richmond and Whitehouse Clinics in Richmond, KY, Family Health Centers in Louisville, KY, and Lexington Diabetic Center in Lexington, KY, Dr. Evans entered medicine to help people live longer, healthier lives. Shes a community leader and charter board member of the Falls City Medical Society. Recently, she began serving on the NAACP Health Committee. She is VP for the Louisville Chapter of the Links, Inc., is a charter member of Jack and Jill of America, and recently joined the sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She enjoys home décor and entertaining friends, but her passion is traveling and spending time with her husband and beautiful family.
