Tamara Jean Vasquez, DNP, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University in 2020, following her Master of Science in Nursing in 2018, a BSN from Central Connecticut State University, and an ASN from Gateway Community College. Her accolades include Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing induction, the Nightingale Award for Excellence, and the Jonathan Boros Award. Ms. Vasquez has researched advanced practice nursing resources during disasters and spearheaded a DNP quality improvement initiative to enhance HIV and Hepatitis C screening rates. Her tenure in the U.S. Army from 1991 to 2016 underscores her leadership capabilities. Ms. Vasquez was an FNP and assistant to the chief medical officer of St. James Health and Wellness Center, an FNP with Shafa Medical Center and the Community Health and Wellness Center of Greater Torrington, as well as an RN in hospital settings. Ms. Vasquez chose healthcare to serve the community. She enjoys volunteering, painting, gardening, and traveling.
