Dr. Kanchan McMahan joined CenterWell as a board certified internal medicine specialist. Dr. McMahan completed her internal medicine residency at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. She earned her medical degree from Duke University. Before joining CenterWell, Dr. McMahan practiced internal medicine with Oak Street Health, CaroMont Health, and Gaston Family Health Services. For her, the right relationship with patients starts with building their trust and providing the knowledge to help improve health outcomes. She believes in giving patients the opportunity to make informed decisions about their health and ensures patient satisfaction by listening and showing she genuinely cares. For her, the best part about being a physician is talking and connecting with her patients, and she describes CenterWell as having great people and processes in a positive culture. Dr. McMahan chose medicine to improve health and prevent medical conditions. She is married to a loving, supportive husband, has two adult daughters, and maintains close relationships with family members here and in India. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, cooking, and practicing yoga.
