Dr. Stella Heredia has joined CenterWell as a general practice physician. A graduate of the Universidad Libre in Cali, Colombia, in 2002, Dr. Heredia practiced as a primary care physician with various healthcare institutions and as an emergency room physician and rural medical doctor. After relocating to the U.S., she worked as a clinical research associate at Aerotek Scientific in Hanover, MD, developing a portfolio including studies on Crohn's disease therapy, aging frailty, and chronic heart failure, involving multiple pharmaceutical companies. She then completed her certifying exams and served a medical internship at HIMA San Pablo in Cupey, PR, in 2020. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Heredia was a general medicine physician with Central Florida Healthcare in Winter Haven, FL, from 2021. She previously worked as a generalist medical doctor in private practice in San Juan, PR. Dr. Heredia chose a medical career because it provides countless opportunities to better the lives of others. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, kayaking, engaging in animal rescue, reading, dancing, cooking, and watching movies.
