Sabrina Patricia Gmerek-Pettus, APRN, a board-certified adult nurse practitioner and certified lifestyle medicine professional, earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida. She is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, American Diabetes Association and the Florida Nurses Association. From 2014 to 2018, Ms. Gmerek-Pettus worked as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with the Florida Pulmonary Research Institute and, previously, at Florida Hospital-Translational Research Institute for Metabolism and Diabetes and Housecalls at Orlando Health. She amassed a decade of experience in pulmonary and sleep medicine with Florida Pulmonary Consultants and acquired expertise in cardiology at Florida Hospital East. She also developed a comprehensive education program for nurses focused on the Geriatric Syndromes. She has aligned her passion for physical activity, nutrition, and addressing diabetes with her belief in listening closely to her patients to help enhance their health and quality of life. Ms. Gmerek-Pettus chose healthcare to impact people's lives positively. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and camping.
