Dr. Mitchell Adam Sanford joined CenterWell as a board-certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Sanford completed a Choctaw Nation Family Medicine Residency in Talihina, Oklahoma, as chief resident. He earned his medical degree from Oklahoma State University College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (3+1 Program) at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Dr. Sanfords poster presentation on sleep apnea was submitted for the Oklahoma State University Quality Improvement Symposium. His article on intermittent fasting vs. a restricted calorie diet was published in the Journal for Patient-Centered Research and Review. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Sanford practiced family medicine with Memorial Health System DIberville, MS. He feels his role is to listen to his patients, treating them as individuals rather than numbers, and making medical recommendations to fit that persons circumstances, based on current evidence, a care philosophy aptly reflecting CenterWells values. Dr. Sanford chose his career because he enjoys the complexities of medicine and wants to help others doing work he loves. He shared, My grandmother switched to a great and compassionate health provider, which gave me more time with her, and I resolved that I would become that provider for someone else. In his free time, he reads, plays board games with his family, listens to music, and watches documentaries with his cat on his lap.
