Melba Lafita Casana, FNP, earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from South University, following an Associate of Science in Nursing from EDP University. A foreign-trained doctor, Ms. Casana obtained her medical degree honored as a Gold Title Award recipient with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba. She practiced as a family medicine physician at Hospital Vila Paiva in Brazil from 2014 to 2017 and as an emergency medicine physician at Hospital Libertad in Venezuela from 2010 to 2014. Before joining our center in 2024, Ms. Casana treated patients as a family nurse practitioner specializing in geriatrics at SKC Family Clinic in Katy, TX. She previously was an RN with ATCH Health Care Agency and Loyal Source. Passionate about heart health, brain health, and nutrition, she emphasizes patient education and preventive care to promote independence and improve older adults' quality of life, working closely with families and caregivers to provide comprehensive support. Ms. Casana chose healthcare to make a positive impact on people's well-being. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
