Dr. Jennifer D. Avena, a family medicine specialist, completed her family medicine residency in 1992 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), following an internship at Pacific Hospital in Long Beach, California. Dr. Avena earned her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985 after obtaining her Bachelor of Science from UNLV. In 2016, Dr. Avena joined Red Rock Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2022, Cano Health acquired the center, which became an integral part of Humana CenterWell in 2023. Her extensive medical career also includes a remarkable 22-year tenure with the Department of Ambulatory Care at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV. Additionally, she held the role of center medical director of Early Periodic Screening within the Department of Human Resources, Division of Health/Special Children's Clinic in Las Vegas.
