Dr. Orlando Diaz joined CenterWell as a general practice physician. Dr. Diaz completed a residency in family medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. He spent five years in Central Africa as a general physician and professor of medicine. Once in the U.S., he obtained his BSN and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami cum laude and on the Dean's List. He then earned his medical degree in Puerto Rico. Before joining CenterWell, Dr. Díaz was a general practitioner at Doctors Hospital in Miami. Earlier, he spent four years as a nurse practitioner in a private internal medicine practice and two years at St. Catherine's West Rehabilitation Hospital, also in Miami. Dr. Díaz's philosophy of care is based on scientific recommendations, mindful of a patient's spiritual beliefs. He defines the right patient relationship as based on mutual respect and ensures patient satisfaction by listening, not judging, and always keeping safety in mind. Dr. Díaz is married, has two grown children, and is happy with the paths their lives have taken. Outside of his work, he enjoys family time, going to church, watching TV, and visiting interesting places.
