Elizabeth Richmond Fortner, APRN

Ms. Elizabeth Richmond Fortner, MSN, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner with more than 15 years of experience caring for adult and geriatric patients across primary care, home-based care, palliative care, pain management, and advanced wound care settings. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Throughout her career, Ms. Fortner provided care for medically complex patients with chronic conditions including heart failure, COPD, diabetes, kidney disease, dementia, and chronic wounds, while emphasizing hospitalization prevention, care coordination, and quality-of-life improvements. She also served in leadership roles as an Advanced Practice Supervisor, supported dementia-focused care programs, and helped develop innovative care initiatives for high-risk populations. Ms. Fortner was drawn to healthcare by a desire to help others during vulnerable times and remains committed to compassionate, patient-centered care that treats the whole person. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and participating in water-related activities.
