Debra Janette Balkman, MD, is a family medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience caring for adult and senior populations in Florida. She is deeply committed to providing comprehensive, person centered care that honors the whole individual and prioritizes what matters most to each patient. Dr. Balkman focuses on helping patients maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life as they age, building strong, trusting relationships through active listening and compassionate care. Throughout her career, Dr. Balkman has worked extensively with older adults, managing chronic conditions while emphasizing prevention, education, and shared decision making. Her clinical interests include heart health, diabetes, brain health, and caregiving support. She believes that meaningful healthcare begins with understanding each patient's goals and life priorities. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking, and being with her family.
