Walter Rios, MD

Walter Rios, MD, is a Family Medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience caring for diverse patient populations, including extensive work with underserved communities and older adults. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad de Montemorelos in Mexico, followed by an internship at Hospital La Carlota and additional clinical experience in Puerto Rico while completing U.S. credentialing. Dr. Rios practiced family and geriatric medicine across multiple settings, including serving as an owner and primary physician of Forest Lane Family Clinic for two decades and later providing senior-focused care within the WellMed organization. His philosophy centers on guiding patients toward healthier choices that support long term wellness, with clinical passions in heart health, diabetes, exercise, nutrition, and obesity. He is committed to patient education, preventive care, and building strong relationships that empower individuals to stay active and healthy. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, volunteering, and participating in sports.
