Walter Beard, MD

Dr. Walter Lee Beard Jr., MD, FACC, is a noninvasive cardiologist specializing in multimodality cardiac imaging and adult cardiovascular care. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama, and completed fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Beard has served in diverse roles, including Assistant Professor of Medicine, Associate Program Director, and Director of Ambulatory Clinics, where he taught and mentored cardiovascular fellows. His experience spans inpatient and outpatient care, structural imaging, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology leadership, and clinic development for underserved communities. Guided by a philosophy of treating every patient with the same dedication he would offer his own family, Dr. Beard is passionate about heart health and improving healthcare delivery. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and fishing.
