Valda O'Ray Gibson, MD

Dr. Valda O'Ray Gibson, MD, is an Internal Medicine Physician with more than three decades of experience caring for adults and seniors across hospital and home based settings. She earned her medical degree from the University of North Carolina and completed her internship and residency through the Emory University–affiliated hospitals, building a strong clinical foundation in complex medical care. Dr. Gibson spent 30 years as a hospitalist serving predominantly elderly patients and later expanded her work to caring for homebound seniors, focusing on prevention, compassionate communication, and supporting patients through challenging health transitions. She believes in embracing a culture of caring for all people, regardless of circumstance, and is passionate about addressing issues such as heart health, caregiving needs, and the impact of loneliness on well being. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering, reading, and gardening, finding fulfillment in activities that foster connection and personal growth.
