Sheila Thomas, MD

Dr. Sheila A. Thomas, MD, is a psychiatrist with extensive experience in integrated behavioral health, primary care collaboration, and the treatment of complex mental health conditions. She completed her medical degree at the Oceania University of Medicine and her psychiatry residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where she also trained in family medicine. Throughout her career, she has served in leadership and teaching roles, including Director of Integrated Behavioral Health and Clinical Assistant Professor for family medicine residents. Her work includes developing collaborative care programs, providing psychiatric consultation to primary care teams, overseeing behavioral health clinicians, and guiding treatment protocols for patients with co occurring medical and behavioral conditions. Dr. Thomas believes in empowering patients, care teams, and herself through comprehensive information and continual learning. She describes working with seniors as deeply rewarding and values the opportunity to help them navigate care with dignity. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors.
