Dr. Sequita Richardson joined CenterWell as a board-certified family medicine specialist and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Richardson completed her family medicine residency at Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City. She earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) and served as an associate professor at the University of Kansas and the UMKC School of Medicine. Before CenterWell, Dr. Richardson worked at St. Luke Family Care and, earlier, at Encompass Medical Group. She has treated seniors throughout her career, and her favorite part about being a doctor is the relationships she forms with her patients based on mutual respect. She believes in caring for the patient's mind, body, and spirit and adds, “I am not a philosopher or a psychiatrist, but I do believe that mental health plays a primary role in wellness,” echoing CenterWell's values. Dr. Richardson's path to medicine began with a childhood fascination with science. In high school, she was chosen to participate in the Summer Scholars Program for aspiring medical students at UMKC. Married with two daughters, she enjoys reading and hanging out with her girls.
