Rumki Banerjee, MD

Dr. Rumki Banerjee joined CenterWell as a board-certified family medicine Dr. Banerjee completed her family medicine residency at Texas Tech Health Science Center in Amarillo, Texas. She earned her medical degree from Burdwan Medical School in Burdwan, India. Fluent in English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, and her academic appointments have included assistant professor at the Medical College of Virginia. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Banerjee co-founded Apex MD and the Apex-Holistic Wellness Center, serving as medical director for 13 years. A pioneer of integrative medicine in Richmond, VA, she teaches patients health principles and personal transformation through diet, behavior, and stress changes. Integrating family medicine with expertise in nutrition, autoimmune disease, and endocrinology, she creates an integrated health plans for the whole person. Dr. Banerjee's care philosophy, shaped by working with older adults, resonates with CenterWell's values. Dr. Banerjee chose medicine to enhance lives and actively participates in nurse practitioner training. In her free time, she enjoys gathering with her family, painting, and reading.
