Robert Klaasen, MD

Dr. Robert Vernon Klaasen has joined CenterWell as a board-certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Klaasen completed his family medicine residency at Franciscan Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Klaasen earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, indicating he was near the top of his medical school class. He obtained his B.S. in Biology and Chemistry with a 4.0 GPA from Indiana Wesleyan University. He served on the Franciscan family medicine residency's teaching staff for 21 years. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Klaasen was the managing partner of Central Indiana Medical Group in Greenwood, IN, from 1999. Earlier, he practiced at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, providing immediate care and family medicine services. Dedicated to the well-being of older adults, he believes in collaborating with his patients to prevent problems that could impair their life plans or, when necessary, to adapt and find their purpose. “I love being involved in patients' life adventures and helping wherever I can,” he shared, supporting CenterWell's patient-centered values. Dr. Klaasen chose medicine driven by a deep sense of purpose, and he sees his work as a family physician as a ministry that embodies compassion and love. In his free time, he enjoys physical training, coaching sports teams, and participating in mission trips.
