Richard Brian Hilgenfeld, MD

Richard Brian Hilgenfeld, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine specialist. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, KS in 1997 after completing his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Kansas State University in 1993. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2000. Before joining CenterWell in October of 2024, Dr. Hilgenfeld worked as a physician for over 20 years, with his latest position being the Center Medical Director for ChenMed, Dedicated Senior Medical Center, in Wichita, KS. As an Internal Medicine physician, he has worked with seniors his whole career but has fully focused on senior care since 2022. He joined the medical field because he has always felt a calling to help others and to give back to his community. His primary focus is to help patients focus on their healthcare goals as well as helping them to live an active, happy, healthy life. He is most passionate about assisting patients with diabetes, heart health, and promoting exercise. In his free time, Dr. Hilgenfeld enjoys spending time outdoors.
