Dr. Ricardo Varas joined CenterWell as a board-certified internal medicine specialist. Dr. Varas graduated from the University of Guayaquil in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Dr. Varas believes that the senior-centered healthcare model that he is able to provide his patients at CenterWell helps in recognizing their individualized needs, as well as treating chronic conditions that are very common to the senior population. What he enjoys most about his role as a primary care physician is being able to get to know his patients each day and interact with them about their concerns and health goals. This allows him to develop a closer patient-physician relationship which enables his patients to feel comfortable in trusting him as their guide throughout their healthcare journey. Dr. Varas also empowers his patients by involving them in the development of the personalized treatment plan that he creates for them so that they can take control of their health. In his free time, Dr. Varas enjoys walking and playing tennis with his daughter.
