Rakesh R Patel, MD

Rakesh R. Patel, MD, is a family medicine physician with more than 25 years of experience providing primary care, urgent care, community health, nursing home care, house calls, occupational medicine, and veteran-focused healthcare. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University. Dr. Patel completed his Family Practice Residency at Swedish Covenant Hospital and has cared for patients in outpatient, inpatient, and long-term care settings throughout his career. He believes in empowering patients through education, collaboration, and continual learning, while taking time to understand each individual's unique needs. Dr. Patel is especially passionate about exercise, nutrition, reducing loneliness, and incorporating holistic approaches to improve overall wellness. He finds caring for older adults particularly rewarding and values helping them maintain health, independence, and quality of life. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering, spending time outdoors, and being with his family.
