Dr. Ovidiu Ghita, a fellowship-trained, board-certified internal medicine physician specializing in geriatric medicine, completed his internal medicine residency and served as a hospitalist at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio. He later performed a geriatric fellowship at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Ghita earned his medical degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine after obtaining his bachelor's degree from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Ghita owned Sano Medical in Knoxville, TN, and previously worked at Internal Medicine Associates of South Florida. Dr. Ghita's affinity with older adults stems from working as a certified nurse assistant (CNA) while a student in high school. He believes in treating patients with respect, dignity, and compassion while empowering them to participate actively in their well-being, resonating with CenterWell's compassionate core values. Dr. Ghita chose medicine because of his passion for helping others and serving his community. Outside of his work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending church, and going fishing.
