Dr. Ballmick is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician whose philosophy of care is: “Treat every patient as a family member or friend, not a diagnosis or a health problem.” She is originally from Florida and speaks intermediate Spanish and fluent English. She is also a graduate of the University of Miami and St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada.
Before joining CenterWell, Dr. Ballmick was an Internal Medicine Resident at MountainView Hospital/Sunrise Health Consortium/HCA in Las Vegas, NV from 2018 to 2021, and served as Internal Medicine Chief Resident during her last year there. Prior to that, she was the Class Representative for two years running. She also held several leadership positions on the Graduate Medical Education Committee as well as the Program Evaluation Committee. During her tenure at MountainView, she received the HCA Exemplary Resident Award, among other accolades.
The best doctor-patient relationship, according to Dr. Ballmick, is one with mutual respect, open lines of communication, and compassion. She believes in speaking openly and honestly to her patients about their health, asking them what she can address on each visit to make sure they are heard and listened to. Dr. Ballmick wants them to feel that their time is valued and that they’re getting the best care. At CenterWell, she enjoys the extra time she is able to spend with patients to establish a stronger connection and says her team members help make her day even more enjoyable.
Dr. Ballmick is the oldest of four siblings and is proud that they’ve followed in her footsteps and are also healthcare professionals. Some of her hobbies include hiking, yoga, cooking different cuisines and spending time with her husband, Jiri, and terrier, Scarlet.
