Nana Yaa S. Addai, DNP, AGNP-C, CDIP, has joined CenterWell as a doctoral-trained, board-certified adult-gerontological nurse practitioner. Originally from Ghana, Ms. Addai earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a study of pain management in older adults. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capital University in Bexley, OH, as a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Ms. Addai was an adult-gerontological nurse practitioner at Optum/United Health Group in a long-term care facility treating acute conditions and managing chronic diseases. She previously worked as an occupational health Nurse Practitioner and Medical-Surgical nurse at UNC Healthcare. Ms. Addai also held positions as an RN in the Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Ohio and the ICU step-down unit at Cone Health System in North Carolina. She believes in enhancing older adults health and quality of life by listening to their concerns, a care philosophy aligned with CenterWells values. Ms. Addai chose healthcare out of a passion for helping others. I never considered any career other than a medical provider for adult and geriatric patients, she remarked. An avid volunteer, she provides annual free health screenings and health advice to the community through her church. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, cooking, sewing, gardening, and traveling.
