Dr. Michelle Pena has joined CenterWell as a board-certified family medicine specialist, passionate about addressing diabetes, loneliness, socialization, and obesity. Dr. Pena completed her family and social medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, receiving a departmental award for Distinction in Health Equity & Anti?Racism in 2022. She earned her medical degree from SUNY - Downstate College of Medicine in 2019 after graduating from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2016. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Pena was an attending physician for the Montefiore School Health Program. With an affinity for treating older adults, Dr. Pena believes in providing her patients the same time, dedication, and commitment she would invest in her loved ones. This philosophy aligns perfectly with CenterWells approach to care. Dr. Pena chose medicine to help others and serve her community. She has worked with the American Medical Womens Association to plan fundraisers for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Her volunteer efforts have included facilitating the CUNY School of Medicine Sophie Davis Technical Skills Lab, and she has provided blood pressure and blood glucose screenings for health fair participants. In her free time, she enjoys creating family memories, listening to music, and the outdoors.
