Dr. Michel Alexandre Dioubate, a board-certified family medicine specialist, completed his family medicine residency at University Medical Center, LSU Lafayette, in 2007. Dr. Dioubate earned his medical degree from A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine of the University of Liberia in 1998 and obtained a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University in 2003. His research laid the foundation for a national tobacco advocacy group in Liberia. Dr. Dioubate has served as an assistant professor at Our Lady of the Lake University. His accolades include the Emmanuel Hunter Internal Medicine Award and the J.J. Roberts Foundation Award for Academic Excellence. Before joining our center in 2024, Dr. Dioubate saw patients with Primary Care New Orleans, focusing on an inner-city population, and treated veterans at Battle Creek VA Medical Center. Earlier, he provided primary care and women's health services at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Lafayette. In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and writing, as evidenced by his published book, 'Laughter of a Crazy Man.
