Maygret Alberro Hernandez, MD

Dr. Maygret Alberro Hernandez, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician dedicated to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care rooted in trust, compassion, and respect. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara in Cuba and later completed an Internal Medicine residency at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Dr. Alberro Hernandez brings extensive experience caring for adults and older adults across inpatient and outpatient settings, including serving veterans in Puerto Rico and Orlando. Prior to her internal medicine training, she practiced as an ophthalmologist and completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery, contributing to clinical research and multiple peer-reviewed publications. Throughout her career, she has focused on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, obesity and weight management, and helping patients make informed decisions about their health. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and exploring the outdoors.
