Dr. Mary Simmons Burgess, a board-certified family medicine specialist, completed her family medicine internship and residency at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, in 2001. Dr. Simmons Burgess earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1998 and obtained a B.S. in Microbiology from Howard University. Before joining us in 2024, Dr. Simmons Burgess was a telemedicine physician with CFP Care Team, Amwell Medical Group, and a nursing home physician in Casselberry, FL. She also practiced family medicine with the Lakeland VA Clinic, Orlando Health Physician Associates, and the University of Central Florida Student Health Services. Earlier, she provided student and employee health at Temple University. Dr. Simmons Burgess believes listening to her patients is vital for enhancing their quality of life. Her passion for addressing heart health, diabetes, and caregiving fuels her commitment to providing empathetic, patient-centered care. Dr. Simmons Burgess chose medicine to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by helping them prioritize their health. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and cherishing moments with her family.
