Maria Santos, MD

Dr. Maria Santos, MD, is a board-certified Family Medicine physician dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan and completed her Family Medicine residency at Duke University, where she held leadership roles as Education Chair and Assistant Chief Resident. Dr. Santos Palencia has experience in full-spectrum family medicine, obesity medicine, and telehealth, with expertise in chronic disease management, preventive care, and procedures such as dermatologic biopsies, musculoskeletal injections, and gynecologic interventions. She is passionate about diabetes, heart health, and addressing obesity, guided by a philosophy of empowering patients and care teams through education and collaboration. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family.
