Dr. Maria Alejandra Vargas Brito has joined CenterWell as a board-certified internal medicine specialist. Dr. Vargas Brito completed her internal medicine residency in 2022 at Harlem Hospital in New York City. She earned her medical degree from the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, graduating cum laude in 2017. She served an externship at Hackensack Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, New Jersey. Her professional affiliations include the Journal of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Vargas Brito saw patients as a primary care physician with Cano Health in Houston, TX. She previously worked as a clinical assistant with EssenMed House Calls in the Bronx, NY. Her compassionate approach as a patient advocate shines through her experience in primary care. With a deep affinity for seniors, she believes actively listening to her patients can help enhance their health and quality of life.
