Lucy Lymarie Ortiz Alvarado, MD

Dr. Lucy Ortiz Alvarado, a board-certified internal medicine specialist, completed her internal medicine residency at San Juan City Hospital in San Juan, PR. She is a member of the American College of Physicians/Internal Medicine. Dr. Ortiz earned her medical degree from the Iberoamerican University of Medicine in the Dominican Republic and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. She maintained a private practice and served as a hospitalist and an ER physician in Puerto Rico for eight years. She also served as a teaching attending physician at the San Juan Bautista Medical School in Caguas, PR. Before joining our center in 2024, Dr. Ortiz practiced at Steward Medical Group in Melbourne, FL, Orlando Health Physician Associates in Orlando, FL, and Baylor Scott and White Health in Pflugerville, TX. She has also worked as a medical chart reviewer. Caring for older adults, she believes in taking the time to address their needs and promoting well-being. Passionate about addressing diabetes, heart health, and obesity, Dr. Ortiz chose medicine to positively impact people's lives, inspired by family health challenges. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and learning new skills.
