Dr. Lisa Cash has joined CenterWell as a board-certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Cash completed the Chesterfield Family Practice Residency in Richmond, Virginia, in 2004. She earned her medical degree from the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, Houston in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, summa cum laude, from Texas State University. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Cash practiced with Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group since 2005. Early in the pandemic, she volunteered with the Virginia Department of Health to aid in administering COVID vaccines. While working at TPMG, she concurrently saw patients at Sentara Wound Healing Center and Bon Secours Wound Care Centers. She has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for delivering high-quality diabetes care since 2017. Her warm affinity for older adults dovetails with her passion for heart health, exercise, and addressing social isolation and loneliness. Her belief in empowering her patients, her Care Team, and herself through comprehensive information and a commitment to lifelong learning supports CenterWell's values. Dr. Cash chose medicine to help improve people's lives by putting their health first. Her dedication to personal development extends to courses like Dare to Lead by Brene Brown. She also developed a personal meditation practice after completing an 8-week course in mindfulness-based stress reduction. Outside of her work, she enjoys reading, needlework, and quality time with her family.
