Leena Subhash Patel, MD

Dr. Leena Subhash Patel, a board-certified internal medicine specialist, completed her internal medicine residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2012. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, and her pre-medical B.S. in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Patel has co-authored research published in peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Cell Communication & Adhesion and Molecular Brain Research. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Patel was a hospitalist with Memorial Hermann Southeast in Houston, TX, and previously, a hospital medicine physician at Our Lady of the Lake RMC in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She worked as a research assistant at the University of Texas at Houston HSC from 2002 to 2005. With her affinity for older adults, Dr. Patel believes in a culture of caring, supporting CenterWell's compassionate values. Dr. Patel chose medicine to positively impact people's lives by prioritizing their health and well-being. Outside of her work, she enjoys cooking, movies, and reading books. She cherishes quality time with her family and exploring new travel destinations.
