Katina M New, APRN

Dr. Katina M. New, Ph.D., MSN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of experience delivering comprehensive care to seniors and veterans. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgia State University and holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science with a research focus on breast cancer prevention. Dr. New has provided primary care in diverse settings, including in-home visits, telehealth, and mental health facilities, and has served as a preceptor for future nurse practitioners. Her expertise spans chronic disease management, preventive care, and patient education, with a passion for diabetes, heart health, and nutrition. She has published research in diabetes technology and breast cancer prevention and remains committed to improving health outcomes for underserved populations. Guided by her philosophy of treating patients with the same dedication she would offer loved ones, Dr. New combines clinical excellence with compassion. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, volunteering, and spending time outdoors with family.
