Juan G Castillo, MD

Dr. Juan Castillo joined CenterWell as a board-certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Castillo earned his medical degree from the Mexican American University of the North (UMAN) in Reynosa, Mexico, and completed his family medicine residency at Texas Tech HSC in Odessa, Texas, named chief resident. He is affiliated with South Texas Health Systems. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Castillo practiced family medicine with Cano Health and, earlier, WellMed, Valley Care Clinics, and Nuestra Clinica Del Valle. A lifelong resident of the Rio Grande Valley, he has devoted himself to the senior community, building trust and maintaining a strong commitment to their health and well-being. He is passionate about addressing heart health and diabetes, approaching patient care with the same level of dedication and time commitment he would extend to his closest loved ones. This philosophy supports CenterWell's compassionate values, emphasizing a patient-centered approach. Dr. Castillo chose medicine out of a warm regard for seniors and a sense of responsibility for safeguarding their quality of life. In his free time, he enjoys family activities, the outdoors, and going to the movies.
