Juan Carlos Gavalda, MD

Dr. Juan Carlos Gavalda, a board-certified family medicine specialist, completed the Physician Leadership Training Program at Methodist Health System in Dallas, TX, in 2018 and his family medicine residency in 2015 at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree in the research track, co-authoring studies on obesity with heart failure and depressive disorders. His accolades include the Best Doctor Award from D-Magazine and Research Resident and Hospitalist Resident Awards. He received his bachelor's degree in biology cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. Before joining us in 2024, Dr. Gavalda practiced at Online Care Group Florida and earlier with Methodist Family Health Center in Grand Prairie, TX, where he served as a Board Member and led the Chronic Care Management Program. He also provided virtual care through Methodist NOW. Passionate about seniors, diabetes, and heart health, Dr. Gavalda has contributed to community outreach through CBS Radio, ABC's Good Morning Texas, and CBS Evening News health segments on stress, virus prevention, and medications. Outside of work, he enjoys family time, traveling, and movies.
