Joan Dorothea West, APRN

Joan West, APRN, FNP, joined CenterWell as a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Ms. West earned her Master of Science in Nursing from South University and a BSN from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. She is a Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing inductee. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Ms. West was a family nurse practitioner with Signify Health in Dallas, Texas. She has also served as a family nurse practitioner with Humana Your Home Advantage in Deerfield Beach, Florida, and in addiction services at Behavioral Health Group in Newport News, Virginia. Her dedication to veterans is evident in her earlier role as an RN in the spinal cord unit at Hampton Veterans Administration Medical Center and in the medical/surgical-cardiothoracic units of Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Virginia. Her belief in attentive listening to enhance patients' health and quality of life underscores her commitment to seniors and her passion for addressing nutrition, diabetes, loneliness, and socialization, echoing CenterWell's values. Ms. West chose healthcare to help others and serve her community. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, music, and reading.
