Janel Jene Willingham, APRN

Janel Willingham, DNP, APRN, NP-C, is a doctorally prepared, board-certified nurse practitioner. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Bellarmine University and her Master of Science in Nursing and BSN from Indiana Wesleyan University, where she is an adjunct faculty member. In addition, she is a American Heart Association CPR Instructor. She's been honored with the Norton Better Care Award and the Kentucky Colonel Award and as a 40 Under 40 nominee in Louisville, KY. The co-author of Becoming Nurse Boss, Dr. Willingham, has been featured in various media outlets and as a panelist, including the Black Women Empowerment Conference 2020. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Willingham was a nurse practitioner with the University of Louisville Hospital, Norton Healthcare, and The Little Clinic. Her commitment to prevention, wellness, women's health, and health literacy matches her passion for working with seniors. She believes in empowering patients to make healthier choices for a better, happier life, embodying CenterWell's values. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, scrapbooking, and crafts.
