Dr. Howard P. Blount, III, M.D. is a board-certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Blount completed his internship and family practice residency at Malcolm Grow USAF Medical Center, Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. He earned his medical degree from the University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He received a B.S. in Biology with High Honors from Georgia Institute of Technology. His assignments in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps encompassed a wide range of medical roles. His many awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and the NATO Medal. Before joining CenterWell, Dr. Blount maintained private practices in Tennessee and recently in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He held key positions in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps, including Chief of the Medical Staff (SGH) at Laughlin and Robins Air Force Bases. He acted as the principal executive staff advisor to the Group Commander concerning the quality and scope of medical care, professional resources, medical policy, and planning. Dr. Blount chose a career in medicine to help others live healthier lives. In his free time, he enjoys making new memories with his family.
