Hector Ruben Vazquez-Torres, MD

Dr. Hector R. Vazquez Torres, a primary care physician, earned his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico, followed by an internship and social service rotations at San Lucas Episcopal Hospital Guayama in Puerto Rico. Dr. Vazquez Torres obtained his pre-medical degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. His interest in obesity, nutrition, and exercise has fueled his dedication to promoting healthier lifestyles. He holds certifications as a personal trainer and sports nutrition specialist, focusing on dietary needs and functional training for older adults. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, he was a primary care physician with Advanced Internal Medicine, Camberwell Primary Care in Kissimmee, FL, and Doctor House in Juncos, PR. He previously was a chronic care manager at Guardian Health Service, educating Medicare patients about their conditions. With a passion for working with seniors, he believes attentive listening is vital to improving their health and quality of life. Dr. Vazquez Torres chose medicine to help others and serve his community. In his free time, he enjoys making family memories, volunteering, and the outdoors.
