Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Gustavo Rodriguez has been practicing medicine for eight years and recently joined the CenterWell in Gulfgate, TX. For three years prior to CenterWell, he was an Associate Partner and Family Physician at WellMed, a geriatric group practice, where he treated senior patients for injuries, illnesses and helped manage their chronic medical conditions. Before that, he was Lead Physician at Austin Diagnostic Clinic, a multi-specialty group, which he helped build from the ground up.

Dr. Rodriguez graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and attended the University of Texas Medical Branch for his Doctorate in Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He is licensed to practice medicine in Colorado and Texas, and speaks Spanish fluently.

According to Dr. Rodriguez, medicine combined two of his loves: science and helping people; and his favorite part about being a doctor is seeing his patients getting better. When it comes to ensuring patient satisfaction, Dr. Rodriguez treats each visit as important, and actively listens to his patients’ concerns. He believes the right doctor-patient relationship is founded on mutual respect, and his Golden Rule of care is: “Treat others as you would like to be treated.”

In his downtime, Dr. Rodriguez loves working out, playing soccer and going out to eat.
