Dr. Gilbert Acevedo Acosta is a general practice physician specializing in internal medicine. After earning his medical degree first in his class from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, he served an internship at Good Samaritan Regional Hospital in Puerto Rico. He completed an internal medicine residency at Ramon Betances Medical Center in Puerto Rico and was named chief resident. He obtained the Dr. Cesar Dargan prize for the best GPA in medical school and the 'Best Medicine Thesis of the Year' by the Dominican Medical Association. He taught internal medicine at San Carlos Borromeo Hospital. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Acevedo Acosta was a primary physician with Clinical Care Medical Center in Lakeland, FL, Lakeland Medical Center, and Orlando Family Physicians. He also served as an internal medicine attending physician at San Carlos Borromeo Hospital and at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Acevedo Acosta chose medicine to help others serve his community. Outside of his work, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and daily workouts.
