David R Powell, MD

David Rawelze Powell II, M.D. is a highly skilled and dedicated Family Medicine physician with extensive experience in both clinical and leadership roles. He graduated with honors from Howard University with a B.S. in Biology. He later earned his Doctor of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine and completed his residency at Southwest Georgia Family Medicine Residency in Albany, GA. Dr. Powell is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. Dr. Powell served as Medical Director of multiple medical facilities in Atlanta, GA. He also served as a Medical Director in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Armed Forces Service Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal. Prior to those roles, he provided comprehensive family medicine care to patients at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and Baptist Primary Care. He is a firm believer in shared decision making with patients and strives to educate patients to empower them to improve their health outcomes. Outside of work, he enjoys writing, exercising, and spending time with his family.
