Daneeka Armont-Woods, DNP, APRN, NP-C, a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner who earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice as well as her MSN, Adult Nurse Practitioner, from Southeastern Louisiana University and a BSN from Dillard University. She is a visiting professor at Chamberlain University School of Nursing and has presented research at conferences, including the American Diabetes Association Fabulous You: Diabetes and Depression. Ms. Armont-Woods was the VP of Practice Transformation at Access Health of Louisiana, where she had seen patients as a nurse practitioner and implemented team-based care. Earlier, at Ochsner Medical Center, she trained endocrinology fellows in diabetes management and developed training modules for advanced practice nurses. Her accolades included the Ochsner Spirit of Leadership team award. Passionate about heart health, diabetes, and obesity, she remarks that working with seniors brings her joy through their wisdom and life experiences. Ms. Armont-Woods pursued healthcare driven by an affinity for community service. Outside of her work, she cherishes family time, reading, gardening, and exercising.
