Damaris W. Gichuhi, AGNP, has joined CenterWell as a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Gichuhi has worked in patient care since 2010 and has extensive clinical experience in hospitals and outpatient settings. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, from the University of North Carolina in 2019. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winston Salem University in 2014 and her Associate of Applied Science from Johnston Community College in Smithfield, NC, in 2010. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Ms. Gichuhi worked as a Hospitalist-NP at UNC-Rex Holly Springs Hospital, Central Prison Healthcare in Raleigh, NC, and Optum-UnitedHealthcare, providing preventative and primary care. She appreciates working with seniors and is mindful about safeguarding their well-being. Ms. Gichuhi's decision to pursue a healthcare career was driven by her deep empathy for seniors and her desire to protect their health. She is passionate about heart health, diabetes, and addressing food insecurity. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and cherishing moments with her family.
