Christopher J. Rankin, MD

Dr. Christopher James Rankin, a board-certified family medicine specialist, completed his family medicine residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA, where he served as co-chief resident, in 2004. Dr. Rankin earned his medical degree from the same institution in 2001. He obtained his B.A. in History and a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology, magna cum laude from Tulane University in 1997. His accolades include a Dean's Honor Scholarship and induction into Phi Beta Kappa. Before joining our center in 2024, Dr. Rankin practiced as a rural health physician with Sabine Medical Center since 2016, assuming roles including clinic director, hospitalist, acting medical director of the geriatric psychiatry unit, and membership on the Governing Board. Passionate about mental well-being and heart health, he has maintained a private practice since 2013, accumulating diverse experience in family medicine and urgent care settings and focusing on chronic and acute conditions. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Katherine, and their two daughters, Victoria and Charlotte, exercising, and watching movies.
