Catherine U Okonji-Azuogu, MD

Catherine U. Okonji-Azuogu, MD, FACP, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience in primary care, urgent care, and hospital medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine affiliated hospitals. Throughout her career, Dr. Okonji-Azuogu provided comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic conditions, with particular focus on diabetes, cardiovascular health, preventive medicine, and healthy lifestyle practices. She served in leadership roles as a Medical Director and Lead Physician, overseeing clinical operations, mentoring medical students and advanced practice providers, and promoting evidence-based care. She also served as a hospitalist and clinical faculty member, helping train future physicians. Dr. Okonji-Azuogu is passionate about brain health, diabetes management, and exercise, and believes that taking the time to listen to patients is essential to improving their health and quality of life. Outside of work, Dr. Okonji-Azuogu enjoys traveling, listening to music, and going to the movies.
