Dr. Carol M. Espinal joined CenterWell as a board certified family medicine physician. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has practiced medicine since 1995. Dr. Espinal completed a residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Department of Family & Community Medicine, and performed a geriatrics fellowship at Audie Murphy Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She graduated from Libre University Medical School. A recipient of the Vitas Best Award, UTHSCSA Department of Family and Community Medicine third-year resident recognition, and Excellence in Clinical Geriatrics, she has presented research at the AAFP Scientific Assembly in Denver. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Espinal practiced with Vitas Healthcare in Orlando, Florida, caring for patients in the final phase of life due to terminal illness and their families. She previously practiced geriatric medicine at FPG Medical Group of Hunters Creek Orlando and JSA Medical Group Bradenton. Earlier, she was a Colsanitas Medical Organization emergency room physician in Cali, Colombia. Dr. Espinal chose healthcare because she has a warm place in her heart for seniors and for safeguarding their quality of life. Taking the time to listen to her patients as vital to improving their quality of life and health summarizes her philosophy of care. She loves her patients stories about their military service and adventures, enjoys nature, and family time.
