Dr. Carmen M. Cabrera, a primary care physician specializing in family medicine, completed her family medicine residency at HIMA San Pablo Hospital in Bayamon, PR, in 2004 and an internship at Manati Medical Center in 1998. Dr. Cabrera earned her medical degree from Central Eastern University School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic in 1991. Before joining our center, she practiced family medicine with PHCA in Altamonte Springs, FL, and earlier, at IMA in Lake Wales, FL, and was honored as the Top Family Physician in Lake Wales in 2020 and the Top Family Doctor in Altamonte Springs in 2022. For twelve years, she ran a private family medicine practice, also serving as an attending physician, senior house staff physician, and ER physician at San Pablo Hospital, with privileges in family practice, ICU, and emergency medicine. Dr. Cabrera chose medicine to make a positive impact on people's lives, particularly valuing the wisdom of seniors. Passionate about addressing brain health, diabetes, and heart health, she treats her patients with the same dedication she would offer her loved ones. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and listening to music.
