Dr. Ayesha Khan has joined CenterWell as a board-certified Internal medicine specialist. Dr. Khan earned her medical degree from Osmania Medical College, NTR University of Health Sciences, in Hyderabad, India, where she also served her internship. She completed an internal medicine residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and was appointed chief resident of the Internal Medicine Department. She received multiple academic honors, including the Outstanding Intern of the Year 2000 Award at NTR University of Health Sciences. Before joining CenterWell in 2023, Dr. Khan worked at Cary Medical Group in Cary, North Carolina, and earlier at Advance Community Health in Apex, NC, serving the medically underserved population. Dr. Khan, who has vast experience providing primary care focusing on older adults, enjoys taking care of the senior community. She believes that listening to her patients is essential in improving their health and quality of life. She invests time in taking care of each patient in a comprehensive manner, including their physical, mental and emotional health, and works on keeping seniors living independently as long as possible. She values CenterWells collaborative approach to patient care, using the team-based model. Dr. Khan chose medicine because she wanted to better the lives of her local community, including seniors. She volunteers with various organizations, offering medical care and counseling to newly arrived refugees and children. Her commitment to community service reflects her desire to give back to society and make a difference in peoples lives. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, traveling and enjoying the outdoors.
